I so want to bring home the Birkin

Okay, I have gotten so engrossed with my "bible" a.k.a. "Bringing home the Birkin" that I forgot I DID said I was going to write a review!!!

I am only about 75 % through the book, the reason being I have two young sons (one 8 month old and 21 month old) and it is almost impossible to have peace and quiet let alone sit down and read for a couple of hours.... So as much as it hurts me to put down the book each time my son screams, I just have to sigh and leave it later on (at night when I read it through the computer screen light as my kids sleep in our room and the lights have to be off)... Too much drama.

Anyhow... From the 75% that I have read, I have to say I got hooked on Hermes. It's bad. Yes I have made the book my personal bible glancing at the photos of the Birkins every so often that I might have faded the pages all together. The book is brilliant and funnily insane that I reckon it is the best book I have read in my lifetime, (and believe me, with the 25 years of my life I have read a whole LOT of books). I love it so much that I reckon I will take the book in my grave and bring it with me to heaven (hopefully with a Birkin in my casket, too.)

I have started my little "Hermes collection", with knotting cards, some catalogues and a Kelly Perfume... And I am pleased. There will be some more in the years to come, anyway I have my entire lifetime to build on it (and of course I haven't forgotten my first love, LV)...

I have to go back reading with the little time I have while my kids are having their afternoon nap, be back for a full blown review in a couple of days!!!

Something New, Something Small...

I know this might sound ridiculously expensive but I am falling for Hermes.

I know.... I know... Hermes prices are not exactly attainable, BUT with hard work in a couple of years I might finally get that most-sought after Birkin Togo in Blue Jean or maybe just a Picotin GM in Raisin... But for now...

I am starting with an inspirational book called "Bringing home the Birkin", I have heard from fellow Bagistas that the book is brilliant (and so is Michael Tonello) so I finally took the plunge and purchased one that is signed by the genius himself... I will write a review after I read it.

My first step to a whole new world of Hermes... and maybe some knotting cards to start with...

The Dramatic Turn

Over the past few months, life has been difficult on us, you have to lose some to gain some, and that is exactly what I did to keep our family upfloat.

From a collection of about 6-7 Louis Vuitton bags, I'm down to 1. Yes, 1. It hurt to see my bags go but these can easily replaced in my opinion, because in reality they are just material things that can easily be bought when things start turning around. I wish I could just feel a tiny bit appreciated for giving up my most priced possessions, sometimes I feel condemned for having the passion I do for expensive bags. I do my best to save up or produce money from selling things that I do not use anymore to pay for these bags. But still I look like I'm the bad guy, and people just do not understand that losing these bags is like losing a friend and more....

I am just venting what I am feeling because nobody seems to understand me, to them it is just "bags" and I should not be upset for selling them. But they do not know how hard I have worked in building this collection.

Anyhow, I should start saving up money again so I can start from scratch adnd get up again... Adding a bit more and starting with something else....

Craving for a Balenciaga

Okay, I do not think I will be able to stick to my bag plan... But I will still try, so far I have only one coming which is a Damier Speedy 30 which is due at the end of February so basically I am still on track. But lately, I have been craving for something Balenciaga and I just bought one on eBay... No not a bag (yet), it's a coin purse in Framboise... It is such a gorgeous colour, I think I will have to buy a bag too... So... I have to forego one bag from my wishlist.

I have another bag scheduled to come in May... It's a Batignolles Vertical!!! I am so excited to get it on my birthday, I can not wait! Now I have to stop getting side tracked and save some moola so I can get a B bag in December in either Framboise, Bubblegum Pink, Amethyst or Magenta...

Ooooh I can smell that smooshy leather now... I heard it can be addictive, but I am too addictied to Louis Vuitton to worry about being addicted to Bals!!!

My Resolution for 2009: Bag Limit

Okay I admit I went a bit crazy over Vuitton this past year, so I said to myself that I will stop browsing online shops (i.e. ebay, let-trade, etc) for fab finds (because that makes me want to buy it), and just buy the bag from the Vuitton boutique... That way it will be more expensive and will be brand new forcing me to wait and save money.

I've set myself to a 3-4 Bags limit for 2009, just buying it at appropriate occassions and reasonably set period of time. Okay here's a breakdown of my limit. I promise not to get side tracked for the sake of my marriage.

1. January to February - I'll be getting my Damier Speedy ebony in 30 from my fab friend.
2. May - my birthday - Looking into getting a Batignolles Horizontal or Vertical
3. August - our anniversay - thinking of Neverfull MM in Damier or Mono or Epi Speedy in Grenade
4. December - Xmas! - my Holy Grail bag -- Multicolore Speedy in Noir. (preowned can't justify a new one!)

Hopefully I can stick to my plan... Will update what happens throughout the year!
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

Dying for Damier

OMG I am so happy. I am finally getting a Damier Speedy! For weeks I have been obssessing about getting one, and then, two of them came up on eBay, I did not hesitate one bit and went to place my bid. I thought it looked good so I just went ahead and placed my bid without having it authenticated first. Then, I thought to post it in the forums I am in just to be sure. One forum said that the 30 looked funny, but the other forum said it was okay. But I don't want an okay I want an "it's authentic"... I was obssessing so much it was eating up my life! And then suddenly, a good friend of mine said she was selling her Damier Speedy and it's basically brand spankin' new! SO I said yes! Considered it sold!

oooooh I'm so happy. Plus, I already got my azur in 25.... All my dreams are coming true. *sigh*

The Bag Fund Plan

Okay, I could not sleep last night because I was thinking which bag I'm going to save up first. I have always wanted the Azur Speedy in 30. That's actually the first LV I fell in love with... But then I was thinking about functionality as well, having two young children I need something I can wear with less hassle plus something that can fit more things, hence, the need for a Batignolles Horizontal.

I have figured out that if I started putting away $100 a fortnight starting January I can come up with the money to buy either one by my birthday (which is on May), the question is which bag? The BH is about $100 more than the Azur but definitely worth the price tag. I will probably just leave it to my instincts when I have them both on hand, I am swearing I am going to have both anyway it's just a question of which's first!

Will keep you's posted once I start the "bag fund"... Hope I don't get side tracked!
